Despite limited exposure to art and music in the inner city of Los Angeles, CA where she was raised, Kimberly Haynes bravely followed a divinely inspired call to song. Naturally immersed in music of all kinds as a young child, Kimberly knew that she wanted to be an artist and a songwriter very early on.  She began performing at a young age making her professional debut at age 12 singing with the televised group Young Life Singers. By age 15, she was already recording demos for other songwriters. At 19, Kimberly traveled to Japan and began a decade of performing in various clubs and venues there and in Los Angeles.

As Kimberly grew musically, she looked for ways to make her music deeper, richer, more resonant, and ultimately, more spiritually-based. Her music transcends genre as she expresses her musical art in a harmonious synthesis of world, pop, and folk.

Kimberly’s passionate approach to life is reflected clearly through the music she creates. The spectrum of her eclectic and enlightening vocal performances evokes both the tenderness of a mother’s touch and the ancient feminine power of a tribal priestess.

You will hear Kimberly’s greatest musical influences – such as Shawn Colvin, Joni Mitchell, and Natalie Merchant – as she harmoniously weaves inspirational heart-felt lyrics into a rich tapestry of world instruments to create poetic reflections. “Having risen from my own ashes multiple times, it is my mission to carry a positive, uplifting message into the world,” She says.  “My life and my music are richer and deeper for the challenges I have overcome, and my songs are a reflection of my personal journey.”

Kimberly’s recent single, Narrow Bridge, released in June of 2020, won the Jury Prize (Best World) for the Global Peace Song Awards 2020.

Her newest single (October 2020), My Brother’s Keeper, is a genre departure for Ms. Haynes with a social justice message for the times.

Her award-winning debut album, Awaken Me, is a perfected tapestry of world instrumentation with a pop sensibility and unifies brilliant performances played by some of the most well-respected musicians in the industry such as David Vito Gregoli, Tina Malia, Christo Pellani, Peter Kater, Jesus Florido, and Byron Metcalf and won Album of the Year, One World Music Awards 2016.

Her second album, In Dreams, was dubbed an ‘instant masterpiece’ in Common Grounds magazine. The combination of Kimberly’s enchanting soaring vocals with songs in English, Spanish, Hebrew, Sanskrit and Portuguese, and the vibrant instrumentation including charango, sansula, medicine drums, didjeridu, monolina create an exotic but familiar experience which will enchant and transport you.

Kimberly has been a featured vocalist for albums by Tina Malia, David Vito Gregoli, Al Jewer & Andy Mitran, Neil Martin, and others.

“Haynes’ gentle, soothing, wistful, and haunting voice reaches resplendent passions…At every point, sincerity rings through, and the two constituents, the vocal and instrumental elements, serve as bolsters to each other in the subtlest but most suffused of ways…not only are her deliveries satiny and mellifluous but this woman boasts excellent compositional skills as well.”
