Love has come and made herself at home
mussed my hair and filled my eyes with light

making fun of all the impostors before her
Love laughs at my silly attempts to be sad
knows that her presence banishes all trace of madness
Love whispers to me in the dark
sweet nothings of devotion
tenderly singing her songs into my heart
Love knows those dark passageways
still greedy to have me back
but knows, too, that I can’t help but dance
to the melody of her flute
Love walks with me in my dreams
